The Manhattan New York Temple

We serve here every Tuesday through Saturday.  It is our second home.  The first three months we served on the evening shift.  We started at 3:30pm and finished up about 10:30-11:00pm.  They refer to this as the "museum shift" because you have time to visit the museums in the morning before you start your shift.
The Temple is located on the corner of Columbus and 65th Street...directly across the street from Lincoln Center.  It is absolutely an incredible location, and it is the highlight of the city.
FLASHBACK: Our first day in Manhattan.  February 27, 2015.  That seems like yesterday. We cannot even remember the cold or the snow.  Beginning June 1, we changed to the morning shift and now start serving in the temple at 9:30am and finish at 5:00-5:30pm.  This is what is known as the "show shift".  You serve during the day and can attend the shows and attractions of Manhattan during the evening.
The high-rise apartment building behind the Temple is owned by the Church and that is where we live.  The Temple comprises the First, Fourth, Fifth and Sixth floors of this white building.  The Second is where the Distribution Center, Office and a conference rooms are located.  The Third floor is where the Wards meet and the classrooms are situated.  As you enter the main door, you either go left into the Temple or right for the Ward and offices.
Looking through the windows of Lincoln Center stands the magnificent Manhattan New York Temple.  We absolutely love serving in the House of the Lord.  Manhattan is so much fun but serving in the Temple for 8 hours a day is the greatest blessing in our lives.  We love and appreciate the Temple.
Coming out of the Lincoln Center after one of the many concerts, ballets or performances offered here and this is what you see...the Angel Moroni across the street.
Looking up 65th Street as the traffic intersects at Columbus and Broadway going North and South.  This picture is looking East towards Central Park which is a block away.
This is what the traffic looks like every night (and every day) as the Temple is located at one of the best intersections in the city. We have to 'pinch' ourselves to make sure we really live in this exciting and bustling city. We have the best of both worlds as we continue our service in the Manhattan Temple.
