Springtime in New York

After some pretty cold weather in Manhattan, the seasons are changing and the weather has been gorgeous these last few days-
Yes, flowers are blooming and 'green' is appearing all over.
And with the warm weather, out come the people.....1000's flock to Central Park to bask in the sunlight. The Park is 843 acres and is essentially the City's backyard! The Park takes up 6% of Manhattan Island. The above view is 'Sheep Meadow'...a very large flat grassy area. This picture cannot portray the myriads of people that are lounging in it today!
Because everyone was doing it, we decided to take a 'selfie' in this bigger-than-life park!
We sauntered over to the several ball fields that are included in the Park. We see adult softball teams as well as kids' little league games being played here....at all times during the day! (Doesn't anyone work here?)
The Central Park Carousel. It's not the original carousel but it does have some of the tallest merry-go-round horses in the United States. It was built in Coney Island in 1908 and was placed in the park in the 1950s after the original one burnt down.
After a long day, 'Moroni' is always a welcome sight! I am amazed each time I see him amidst the background of this 24-hour bustling city. A beacon of peace and strengthen!
