Probably the hardest thing for us in NYC is the noise. The horns, sirens, yelling and sounds are constant. Las Vegas may be a 24 hour town, but NYC is more.
Something is always going on across the street. The problem is they show up at 5:00am to set up. That causes traffic to narrow to one lane and the honking starts. Today they were cutting the Christmas lights out of the trees...
Then the following morning these guys showed up and started to construct a tower. Law: The brick and exteriors of buildings in NYC need to be inspected every seven years. Hence the scaffolding and protective awnings all over the city!
The second morning they were there going at it again. Up the 7th floor. We are not sure what they are doing but they make enough noise to give the impression it must be something big.
Third day: Over and up to the 12th floor. This is weird...Where are they going with this? When it was all completed it looks like they are going to be working on the roof of the building next to them. Oh great... maybe we will have construction noise throughout the summer!
After a week of building going on across the street and all the taxi drivers upset for them blocking the street (what else can the construction guys do?), the street was packed at 6am with more honking and yelling. The cause? Tryouts were today and tomorrow for Shark Tank in New York City.
Always something going on in New York! But we love being here and serving in the Temple.
